Colin Winnette

Colin Winnette is a writer from Denton, Texas. He is the author of Revelation (Mutable Sounds, 2011), Animal Collection (Spork Press, 2012), Fondly (Atticus Books, 2013), Coyote (Les Figues, 2015), and Haints Stay (Two Dollar Radio, 2015). Fondly was listed among Salon’s Best Books of 2013. Coyote won Les Figues Press’s NOS Book Contest and was on the Small Press Distribution bestseller list for four months. Haints Stay was listed as a 2015 “Best Book of the Year” by Flavorwire, Litreactor, Largehearted Boy, and Slate. Coyote was listed as a 2015 “Best Book of the Year” by Flavorwire and the Washington Independent Review of Books. Winnette was a runner-up for the Cleveland State University Poetry Center’s First Book Award, and a finalist for Gulf Coast Magazine’s Donald Barthelme Prize for Short Prose, as well as the 1913 Press First Book Award. Analise Langford-ClarkAnalise Langford-Clark will read from Coyote by Colin Winnette. Langford-Clark has been involved in community theatre in the Sacramento Area for the last twenty years. Some of her favorite roles include Janet van de Graff in The Drowsy Chaperone with Fair Oaks Theatre Festival, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at American River College, and Marie-Therese in Adoration of Dora with KOLT Run Creations. She has worked for the Sacramento Kings for the last fourteen years—Go Kings! She is a survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and she and her father help raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she was lucky enough to be treated. While her first love is theatre, she is an avid reader and is thrilled to get to participate in this program!

Bill Pieper

Bill Pieper lives and writes in Sacramento and Nevada City, California, and is listed as a notable alumnus of the Squaw Valley Community of Writers. Two of his stories have received Pushcart Prize nominations, and a third won a national award from Scratch Writer magazine. Pieper’s stories have appeared in The Farallon Review, Red Fez, Convergence, Primal Urge, Fiction 365, The Blue Lake Review, and elsewhere. In addition to Forgive Me, Father, his 2014 collection from Cold River Press, Pieper has two novels in print, Belonging (Comstock Bonanza Press, 2006) and What You Wish For (Pacific Slope Press, 2011). Victoria GoldblattVictoria Goldblatt will read “Wildflower Season” by Bill Pieper. Goldblatt has been performing for over twenty years. She has done a variety of work including films, commercials, community theater, and voice-overs for TV and radio, along with her show, Cabernet Night with Victoria and Friends. She was the former Casting Director for Stories on Stage in Sacramento, and was a member of the Steering Committee for the Playwrights Collaborative in Sacramento for eight years. She is thrilled to be invited back to start the New Year off at SOS Davis.
