daniel-coshnearDaniel Coshnear lives in Guerneville, California works at a group home for the homeless and mentally ill, and teaches writing at UC Berkeley Extension, and in other north bay facilities. He is author of Jobs & Other Preoccupations(Helicon Nine 2001) winner of the Willa Cather Fiction Award and Occupy & Other Love Stories (Kelly’s Cove Press 2012) and winner of the Novella Prize for Homesick, Redux (Flock 2015) He is the recipient of a Missouri Review Editor’s Prize and a Christopher Isherwood Foundation Fellowship. Chad Fisk“Above the Canyon”and “My Small Goals” by Daniel Coshnear will be read by returning SOS actor, Chad Fisk. Chad is thrilled to be making his third appearance with Stories on Stage. He has appeared on stage throughout the Bay Area, including Othello at Cal Shakes, Comedy of Errors at SF Shakes, The Homecoming at the Aurora Theater Company, Dealer’s Choice at Actor’s Theater, Translations at Center Rep, and Picnic at Sacramento Theatre Company. Television credits include three episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. Chad currently directs plays at Davis High School and leads a creative writing program at Visions in Education in conjunction with 916 INK.

p-joshua-laskeyOriginally from Sacramento, p joshua laskey considers himself a Texiforkerisiaínoleondoner—which means he misses all seven other far-flung cities he’s called home. He’s proudly performed as an actor for Stories on Stage Davis and was honored to be named a Board Member Emeritus of the organization after a stint pitching in at events. He is Associate World Literature Editor for The Literary Review and Artistic Director of both Stories on Stage Sacramento and Theater Galatea. His published work includes original, adapted, and translated plays as well as original and self-translated short stories, flash fiction, and poetry. He has received multiple awards across genres including Sacramento News & Review’s Best Original Play, Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Baumeister Scholarship in Creative Writing, Toyon Literary Magazine’s Multilingual Award in Translation, and Reunion: The Dallas Review’s Robert Bone Memorial Prize (twice). Philip, a child of a military family and retired semiconductor sales executive, has traveled extensively and built a successful acting career spanning two decades. This wealth of experience has honed his ability to view the world through the prism of location, people, and tradition, enriching his writing and acting. He currently manages Auburn Community Television and is a celebrated short story writer.
