Dax Meredith has dedicated her writings to help people to recover from trauma, grief, and crises through faith and hope. Soon after battling a long term and life-threatening illness, she and her children survived the Camp Fire with a very harrowing escape. Dax has a degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on crisis response and therapy. She teaches at both community colleges and universities along with hosting wellness retreats. In addition to writing books for adult healing, she also has an empowering e-book series for children. Dax is the proud mother of two boys and a little Boston Terrier dog.

Analise Langford-Clark will read an excerpt fromThe Sound of the Snow Geese, by Dax Meredith. Analise has been involved in community theatre in the Sacramento Area for the last 20 years. Some of her favorite roles include Janet van de Graff in The Drowsy Chaperone with Fair Oaks Theatre Festival, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at American River College, and Marie-Therese in Adoration of Dora with Kolt Run Creations. She is a survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and she and her father help raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she was lucky enough to have been treated. While her first love is theatre, she is an avid reader and is thrilled to get to participate in this program!
Lois Ann Abraham grew up in New Mexico in a home rich with books. She attended the University of New Mexico, winning the Freshman Honors prize the first year and dropping out the next. After working as a transportation auditor/consultant, and a brief career as singer-songwriter, she taught literature, creative writing, and grammar at American River College in Sacramento. Her books are Circus Girl & Other Stories, Tina Goes to Heaven, and Deborah’s Gift. Lois Ann loves imagining lives she hasn’t lived; she writes to understand what really goes on in the minds, hearts, bodies, and souls of other people.
Gay Cooper is excited to be returning to Stories on Stage Davis to read an excerpt from Lois Ann Abraham’s book, Deborah’s Gift. Over the years, she has read many times for Stories on Stage Sacramento. She has also acted with numerous theater companies in the area, including Resurrection Theater, Big Idea Theater, Sacramento Theater Company, Kolt Run Creations, and California Stage. And she has appeared in commercials & industrial films, both in Northern California and her home state of Tennessee. Gay has always been drawn to the magical alchemy of actor and writer in creating a storytelling experience that is rich and compelling.
