Deni ScofieldDeni Scofield will read “Nina Brown” by Genanne Walsh. Scofield has been teaching theater in the Sacramento area for the past twenty-four years and serves as Theatre Coordinator for the San Juan Unified School District. She is an active presenter at workshops, teaching others how to incorporate theater into core curriculum. Prose and poetry pushed her into the halls of CSUS, where she graduated with a BA in English in 1991. In 1998, her love of words led her back to CSUS, where she earned her MA in creative writing. Scofield’s first play, Clippings, was published by Samuel French in 1997, and that publication was followed by two more, All The King’s Horses and Othello Undone. When not teaching and directing high school theater, she enjoys the opportunity to tread the boards herself, having performed at several of the wonderful theaters in Sacramento and in a commercial or two. Scofield has read for Stories on Stage Sacramento, and she is very happy to read in Davis and share “Nina Brown”!
